Skiing has been popular for decades throughout California and more recently snowboarding has become a sport of many winter enthusiasts. The Palos Verdes Peninsula and the rest of the Los Angeles area are located within driving distance to numerous ski resorts, many of which we can see from our own back yards. Each ski resort has unique characteristics but all share amenities that cater toward visitors. Each resort has nearby lodging and equipment rental facilities. Many have snowmaking machines and offer night skiing. Airline accommodations are also available for resorts, including Mammoth and June Mountain, which are located in Central California. The following telephone list of areas can provide you with access to more details on the individual areas. Depending on weather, most are open late November through April.
